On August 22, 2019, William Conway was honored at The Rockaway River Country Club to celebrate his 100th birthday. The event was presented by The Rotary Club of Denville and featured many dignitaries from Denville including Mayor Tom Andes, Brigadier General Alfred P. Abramson III (Commanding General, Picatinny Arsenal), as well as a live phone call from NJ Gov. Phil Murphy wishing Mr. Conway a happy birthday.

Mayor Tom Andes presented Mr. Conway with a plaque in recognition of his outstanding record of service and commitment and proclaimed the 22nd to the 26th of August 2019 “William F. Conway Week” in the Township of Denville.

Mr. Conway served in the Army Air Corps during World War II from 1941 through 1946 and rose to the rank of Master Sergeant. He served on both The Denville Township Board of Education and The Morris Hills Regional Board of Education for 20 years from 1957 to 1977. He also enjoyed an outstanding career as Chief Instrumentation Engineer at Picatinny Arsenal from 1950 to 1981.

Presently, Mr. Conway is a highly esteemed member of the Rotary of Northern New Jersey and has had a perfect attendance record at The Denville Rotary Club since he joined in May of 1983.
